In October, the ACTIPRO team participated in the Spanish Society of Zooethnology (SEZ) conference in Zafra-Badajoz and the SEPOR trade fair in Lorca-Murcia — the two most significant events in the swine sector in southern Spain, where the latest industry innovations are presented. During these events, ACTIPRO held meetings and presentations highlighting the use of egg powder as a high-quality protein source in pre-starter diets for piglets.
The removal of zinc oxide from these diets has created new opportunities to incorporate premium proteins that enhance immunity and support healthy early growth. ACTIPRO’s experts emphasized how egg powder can effectively meet these nutritional demands, contributing to improved piglet performance and well-being.
The response from nutritionists at both fairs was highly positive. They recognized egg powder as a high-quality nutritional alternative to premium proteins sources such as soy protein concentrate, whey protein concentrate, fish meal and yeast. This stage immediately following weaning is crucial for the proper development of piglets and for building robust immunity that ensures good health throughout the fattening period.
